At the back of Oaxaca City lies a large market where it is possible to buy almost everything. It is the day before the Catholic Festival Semana Santa known world-wide as Easter. At the back of the market is an old man who is selling his sugarcane various passerbys. He sits in the shade of the large tarpaulin hanging above although his feet poke out into the strong sunshine. He wears grey trousers and relatively new white sneakers. The sugar cane glistens in the sunshine colours of yellow brown and green. It is tied in bundles piled up ontop of one another on a dry and dusty floor. In the background the daughter of the vendor sits swinging her dangling legs ontop of yet another huge bundle of sugarcane. She is dressed in jeans and dark trainers.
